Mobile app
Workers can use Opzaco two ways: the iPhone app, or the same QR code opening in their phone's browser. Nothing is blocked on the app — the web flow is a complete worker experience on its own, and it is what Android crews use today.
Which one a worker gets
Scanning a QR code opens the Opzaco app if it is installed on that phone, and the phone’s browser if it is not. The worker does not have to think about it, and a crew can be half on the app and half on the web with no difference to what you see on the dashboard.
The iPhone app is on the App Store — download it here. An Android app is built but not yet submitted to the Play Store, so Android crews work through the browser. Ask Opzaco where that stands rather than promising a crew a date.
What the app adds
- A built-in scanner, so a worker starts from the app instead of hunting for the camera.
- Voice input on iPhone. Workers dictate their question to Ask the Manual instead of typing it. Transcription runs on the phone and the audio is never uploaded. Service-log answers are still typed.
- Better photos. Images are compressed and stripped of camera and location data on the device before they are sent, which is faster on a weak connection.
- A persistent session. On iPhone the sign-in token lives in the encrypted Keychain, set so it does not sync to iCloud and cannot be restored onto a different phone.
Bad signal
Every submission carries a unique identifier from the device, so a worker who taps submit on a bar of signal and retries a minute later gets one log, not two. This holds on both the app and the web.
Important
A full offline queue — filling in logs with no signal at all and having them send themselves later — is still in development. Today, submitting needs a connection. Tell workers to submit before they leave a spot with coverage.Language
The worker experience is fully bilingual, English and Spanish, throughout — including Ask the Manual, which answers in the language the worker has selected.
Signing in
Workers sign in with a one-time code sent by text to the number they enrolled with. See Staff & invites for enrollment and for what to do when a worker changes phone number.
